This rule includes the owner, their company, and anyone with an ownership stake or authority in the property.

However, there's an exception for property owners who already had more than two certificates before this rule started. They can renew these certificates up to three more times in Wine Country. But they can't get any new certificates for properties in Wine Country until they follow the two-certificate limit. They can still get certificates for properties outside of Wine Country.

2. The maximum length of stay is less than 30 consecutive calendar days, with a minimum requirement of at least two consecutive days and one night.

3. There is a restriction on the minimum age of a short-term rental guest anywhere in the County, excluding Wine Country, a short-term rental guest must be a minimum of 21 years old. Guests of a Short-Term Rental in Wine Country must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age.

4. Only one short-term rental certificate can be issued to a multiple one-family dwelling, this means that the entire houses have to be rented together to one guest as a single rental. Having multiple one-family dwellings on the same property doesn't mean more people can stay there according to the rules of the County

Regulations on hosting events or parties in STR

A Short-Term Rental cannot be used for hosting events, parties, and other temporary events unless a temporary event permit has been obtained by the Responsible Operator.

Restrictions on number of reservations

1. There is no restriction on the number of reservations that can be allowed in a year but only one guest is allowed to rent an STR if it is an un-hosted stay. More than one guest or multiple bookings are only allowed if it's a hosted stay, as long as you don't rent out more than five rooms and you follow the rules about how many people can stay there as stated in your rental certificate.

2. The maximum length of stay is less than 30 consecutive calendar days, with a minimum requirement of at least two consecutive days and one night.

3. There is a restriction on the minimum age of a short-term rental guest anywhere in the County, excluding Wine Country, a short-term rental guest must be a minimum of 21 years old. Guests of a Short-Term Rental in Wine Country must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age.

4. Only one short-term rental certificate can be issued to a multiple one-family dwelling, this means that the entire houses have to be rented together to one guest as a single rental. Having multiple one-family dwellings on the same property doesn't mean more people can stay there according to the rules of the County

Waste disposal regulations

Yes, the laws regarding waste disposal in the County are stated below;

1. You can't leave trash where everyone can see it, except in the right containers for the garbage truck to pick up.

2. When you remove snow from your driveway or parking lot, you can't put it in the street or public areas, unless it doesn't make the snow on the street deeper by more than three inches. Also, don't pile snow in a way that covers fire hydrants or water sources for firefighting.

Limitation on number of STR owned

There is no limitation on the number of STRs that can be owned by one person in every part of the county except the Wine Country and Idyllwild, where property owners are only allowed to have up to two short-term rental certificates at the same time. This rule includes the owner, their company, and anyone with an ownership stake or authority in the property.

However, there's an exception for property owners who already had more than two certificates before this rule started. They can renew these certificates up to three more times in Wine Country. But they can't get any new certificates for properties in Wine Country until they follow the two-certificate limit. They can still get certificates for properties outside of Wine Country.

Emergency Contact Information

Yes, the responsible operator should be available at the Short Term Rental property within sixty (60) minutes of the County’s request for an exterior inspection or for other purposes.

Neighbor Notification

Yes, you are required to notify your neighbors within ten (10) days after the approval of your STR of the presence of such rental in the community.
